During his studies he became a member of the Syrian National Philharmonic Orchestra. He also worked with many famous artists in the Arabic word - like Wadiaa el Safy. Beside this, he established his reputation as teacher for Violin, Oud and Percussion.
In 1994 Zaher Assaf moved to Stuttgart, Germany, and later to Zürich, Switzerland. In countless appereances he played both, as solo artist and with his ensemble "El Farah" (Arabic for "joy"). His passion for music drives him constantly to try out new things and to create new musical compositions
"Hanin" is Zaher's first CD for Oriental Dance Music. The longing and passion for this music and art of dance drove him to write and record these songs. It is important to him to make Oriental culture better known in the Western world. "Hanin" was especially developed for Orienteal dancers, combining complex rhythms and melodies, reflecting the richness of Oriental music.
